Antioch’s National Night Out

On Tuesday August 7th, several members of the Antioch Police Department, City Council members, and City staff participated in Antioch’s National Night Out. National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie. It provides a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances. Antioch Welcomes the 95th Officer

Lateral Police Officer, Devon Wenger, was sworn-in on July 30, 2018. Devon grew up in the Antioch/Brentwood/Oakley area and graduated from Freedom High School in 2010. After high school, Devon enlisted in the U.S. Army where he served for five years as a Military Police Officer and was deployed to Afghanistan. Antioch Explorers visit Solano County

This past week, 7 of our Police Explorers attended a 4-day, live-in academy in the City of Vallejo. There were 45 Explorers from different police agencies in Solano County and Antioch in attendance. The Antioch Police Department was the only agency outside of Solano County invited to attend. This academy gave the Explorers in-depth exposure into what the actual police academy and training is like. They were up early every day completing physical fitness exercises and drill. We Welcome New Lateral Officer

Today, we welcome lateral officer Devon Wenger-Gomez. Devon was born in Walnut Creek and grew up in the East Bay. He graduated from Freedom High School in 2010. After graduation, Devon enlisted in the Army and was deployed to Afghanistan. When Devon returned from deployment, he served with the Fort Drum Special Reaction Team as an entry team member and sniper. Antioch Police Officer Reunites Missing Dog with Family After 2 Years

When Antioch Police Officer Amiri was performing a routine traffic stop at 1:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 14th, a very friendly, snorting French Bulldog jumped into his patrol vehicle. Officer Amiri brought the cooperative runaway to Antioch Animal Services where it was discovered the dog had a microchip. Antioch Police Explorers

This past weekend the Antioch Police Explorers attended a 3-day competition in Ripon, CA. They were evaluated on 16 different realistic scenarios such as domestic violence investigation, active shooter, traffic stop, and crime scene investigation to name a few. They competed against 40 other Explorer Posts, with over 400 participants coming from as far as Utah and San Diego. Our Explorers had trained very hard for this event.
