Welcome to the City of Antioch a City on the Move!

The City of Antioch has plentiful recreational features and cultural facilities, particularly linking the San Francisco/East Bay region to Sacramento and the Central Valley.

We have a burgeoning population of professionals, a variety of housing, endless outdoor activities and thriving business hubs. Antioch is the second-largest city in Contra Costa County with a population of over 114,000 residents. Families come to Antioch for its neighborhoods, parks, schools, and natural environmental beauty, drivers for an outstanding quality of life.

Over one billion dollars invested in transportation, Antioch easily links to San Francisco Bay Area, Silicon Valley, Sacramento, and Central Valley and beyond. Amtrak’s scenic passenger train stops in Antioch’s historic downtown and connects residents to an assortment of destinations and other regional transportation networks.  Tri Delta Transit buses serve the region with a strong demand and over 13 local routes. California State Route 4 widening lane project, California State Route 160 connector, and Bay Area Rapid Transit known as BART rail line and station creates a true transportation-oriented development. These developments will help incubate economic trends that will increase demand for workforce mobility, goods and services, key drivers for our economy.

Antioch has a healthy workforce, diverse and educated in a variety of industries. One of the City’s top industries is medical.  Antioch has two major hospitals Kaiser Permanente and Sutter Health. There is a demand of office space, products, and companies moving to Antioch that serve this industry. Retaining and growing is fueled by our educational institutions of Dozier-Libby Medical High School and Contra Costa Medical Career College. Antioch is strategically laid out and lends itself to grow more industries. Antioch has a variety of market rate housing projects in the pipeline. Planning for growth, the City has large areas where companies can ignite a campus of technology, manufacturing, and innovation. Come and see how you can grow, work and play in “Antioch On The Move”.

Antioch Economic Development

To aid the City of Antioch in maintaining a robust business environment, the EDD provides staff support to the Economic Development Commission (EDC), and also partners with the Antioch Chamber of Commerce, the Contra Costa Council, and various other regional business organizations to position Antioch as a premier city in which to conduct business, both for the consumers and the business owners who serve them.
To achieve this goal, the EDD employs a multi-pronged approach focused primarily on the areas of retail attraction, downtown revitalization, business retention, and job development.
