Antioch Police Department Takes 1st Place in 2018 SWAT Fitness

Members of the Antioch Police Department SWAT team participated and took first place in the 2018 SWAT Fitness Challenge! The event took place on June 26th at the Alameda Sheriff’s Training Center in Dublin. This event is an endurance race made up of four-person SWAT teams from across the state. Our team consisted of Lieutenant Desmond Bittner and Detectives Rick Hoffman, Casey Brogdon, and Tom Smith who competed against 25 other teams. This was our fifth time participating, having previously earned several third-place finishes until this year’s first place win. The event benefits the George Mark Children’s House which provides hospice care for terminally ill children. This year’s event raised over $100,000.
