Building Inspection Services Beginning

Building Inspection Services Division has begun to offer limited services for building permits. Applicants can submit new applications or drop off resubmittals through a contactless drop box on the second floor of City Hall. This service is available

  • Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m
  1.  Submit your applications at City Hall. The main entrance and elevator are open and a rack has been provided on the second floor for contact-free drop-off of applications and resubmittals. No fees are due at the time of Building Permit application. A Building Permit application form is required and is available here.
  2. Building Permits may be picked up on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday by appointment only. A Building Inspection Services staff member will contact applicants when the plans have been approved and the permit is ready to issue. At that time of the appointment, individuals may enter the department and work directly with staff. Protective barriers are in place for safety. Once issued, the applicant will be directed to the Finance Department to make payment.
  3. Building Inspections will be available for all approved and active projects. Please call the Building Inspection hotline to make an appointment at (925) 779-7065.

Once an application is received and approved, Building Inspection Services staff will contact the applicant to schedule an appointment to pick up the permit and make all necessary payments. During the week of May 4 – May 9, the Building Inspection Services Division issued 63 building permits and received 31 new applications and resubmittals.
