Gathering For Garments

Please Join City Council Woman Monica Wilson and Contra Costa Building and Constructions Trades Council for our 2nd annual Gathering for Garments fundraiser for The Grateful Garment Project (TGGP) on May 18th, from 12-4pm.
#TGGP is a program that has been created to provide victims of sexual assault with some simple dignity. The purpose of the party is to have a good time while raising awareness and resources needed for sexual assault victims. This is necessary because when a person reports an assault and begins the Sexual Assault Response Team (#SART) exam process (aka #rapekit), they may be requested to give up their clothes as forensic evidence. This could leave them with nothing to wear home, adding insult to injury.

Clothes:
Leggings
Sweatshirts (Adult and Youth – all sizes)
Sweat Pants/Pajama Bottoms (Adult and Youth – all sizes)
Sport Bras (all sizes)
T-Shirts
Underwear (for women, men and children) (all sizes)
Socks/Booties Flip Flops/Slippers or Slip-on Sandals (all sizes)

Non-Perishable Items:
Individually wrapped nuts
Instant Meals
Protein bars
Instant Oatmeal
Chips
Beef jerky

Grooming Items:
Toothbrushes
Deodorant
Hair brushes
Lip balm
Hand Sanitizer
Hair brushes/Combs/Hairties
Mouthwash

General Items:
Backpacks/Duffle bags
Books including “Girls Like Us,” “Runaway Girl” & “A Terrible Thing Happened”
Journals (medium size)
Puzzle Books (word search, sudoku or crossword)
Small Flashlights w/batteries included
New blankets (medium throw size)
Stress balls

All donations have to be new items.
