Caring Hands Volunteer Training
March 22, 2019 @ 9:00 am - 2:30 pm
FreeCaring Hands Volunteer Caregivers Program matches volunteers with seniors living independently in Antioch and elsewhere in East County to offer friendship, outings, and rides to the doctor or store.
The next Caring Hands Volunteer training is offered on March 22 at John Muir Health in Brentwood If you have just an hour or two each week to offer friendship and occasional rides to a senior in your neighborhood, please consider joining the team as a non-medical volunteer caregiver. Enriching matches and deep relationships are created with frail or isolated seniors. In addition to visits and outings, reading mail or providing occasional respite care are services which make a big difference. The program is flexible and you can help someone in your own neighborhood. The program provides substitutes for when youβre away.
Perhaps youβll be that friend who gives a waiting senior hope and help β or maybe you know just the person to do so! For an application (required) or more information about John Muir Healthβs Caring Hands program, please contact Stacy Appel, Volunteer Coordinator, at (925) 952-2999 or email [email protected]
