November is “Adopt A Senior Pet Month” and Antioch Animal Services kicked off the month by celebrating the Spirit of East County Seniors, a walk hosted by Councilwoman Lori Ogorchock at Somersville Towne Center. On December 23rd Antioch Animal Services held a Holiday celebration in conjunction with the Police Department’s Adopt-aFamily event. During our celebration, Animal Services adopted out 3 cats and 4 dogs. Some of our very own Police Officers gave the best gift of a “fur-ever” home to some deserving pets! Panther Tails is a Runaway Hit

For the second year, Panther Tails is a runaway hit. Pairing Antioch High School’s cross country team with Antioch Animal Shelter dogs, the program features the students taking shelter dogs out for a run in Antioch’s Historic Downtown. On Sept. 29, the 50-some runners took eight tail-wagging pups for a jog, and will do this weekly through the cross country season.
