The Community Development Department is currently underway with the development of a Habitat Conservation Plan / Natural Community Conservation Plan (HCP/NCCP). An HCP is a function of the federal and State Endangered Species Acts and serves to provide comprehensive planning and permitting for the area. Improvements – A City and Community Effort

New and Improved Fish Cleaning Station Antioch’s public fishing pier received much needed rebuild of the existing fish cleaning station and the Marina received a new fish cleaning station thanks to Dylan Wright, Eagle Scout candidate and Mayor Sean Wright’s son. November is “Adopt A Senior Pet Month” and Antioch Animal Services kicked off the month by celebrating the Spirit of East County Seniors, a walk hosted by Councilwoman Lori Ogorchock at Somersville Towne Center. Fall Dance Recital On Saturday, the Fall Dance Recital took place at the Nick Rodriguez Community Center for the first time. Ballerinas, hip hoppers, princess dancers, tiaras & tutus and pre-school dancers performed on a stage for the first time ever. The Theater was overflowing with parents, grandparents and siblings! Antioch Police Department Welcomes Officer Calvin Prieto

On November 5th Officer Calvin Prieto was sworn in as our 99th police officer. Calvin is a former Marine who decided to become a police officer and serve his community after his service to our county. Calvin was initially hired by the Alameda County Sheriff Department where he served for two years before leaving to work for the San Leandro Police Department where he served four years.
