Antioch Police Department staff took part in a Tip a Cop fundraiser at Chili’s in Antioch last week. This annual Tip-a-Cop event raises money to support the Special Olympics locally and across the nation. Officers, Dispatchers, Explorers, and other Police Department employees acted as “celebrity” waiters, serving drinks, bussing tables, and doing dishes in order to earn tips. These tips go directly to the Special Olympics to help sponsor the athletes. We had an outstanding response from our personnel as well as our Community. Together, with a pledge from State Assemblyman Jim Frazier to match the funds raised by Antioch Police, we collected over $5,000 for the Special Olympics. We are proud to be part of this worthwhile event and thankful for such an amazing community turnout with their generous support for the athletes.
