City of Antioch - MLK Day of Service

Antioch Recreation: Dr. Martin Luther King Day of Service

This year marked the 26th Anniversary of the day of service that celebrates civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.  The City of Antioch honored Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. by hosting a COVID safe day of volunteer service litter clean-up on Monday, January 18, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.  We invited residents to join us and pay tribute to Dr. King’s legacy of giving back and supporting humankind.  There were four opportunities to serve and support – Antioch Community Park, Gentrytown Park, Prewett Community Park, and Waldie Plaza.

A huge thank you goes out to all of the members and families of the Antioch community who registered and participated in this liter clean-up! Let’s continue to work together to build a stronger Antioch.

“Faith is taking the first step even when you don’t see the whole staircase” – Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
